Complete application consists of a cover letter, resume, three (3) references from the most current supervisors, current criminal record check, Child Abuse Registry check, and Prior contact check. 

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • MSW preferred
  • BSW degree is required
  • Working knowledge of the Child & Family Services Act, the Authorities Act, the Adoption Act, and related Regulations and Standards
  • Knowledgeable in the Provincial Child Maintenance Manual
  • Aware of current changes to the Child and Family Services system
  • Must have excellent management, verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in CFSIS (Child & Family Services Information System)
  • Must have valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle as travel is required and must continue to possess as condition of employment
  • Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams, groups and/or one on one
  • To work independently with minimum supervision

Specific Job Duties (but not limited to):

  • Assists Executive Director with limited duties;
  • Supervision of supervisors
  • Ensure agency procedures and guidelines are being followed;
  • Agency and community relations;
  • Oversees the ministerial CFSIS directive and ensures agency is in compliance;
  • Works directly with supervisors to ensure compliance of data inputting on CFSIS is complete;
  • Develop a work plan with the supervisors to ensure agency maintains compliance of CFSIS data inputting;
  • Ensures agency meets and maintains compliance of all CFSIS reviews that are required;
  • Ensures delivery of agency services according to legislation, regulations, and standards, and the agency’s philosophy, policies, procedures, and guidelines;
  • Evaluate and review all programs;
  • Review case plans;
  • Review assessments;
  • Identify and recommend areas of improvement in case plans;
  • Development of program and service standards;
  • Planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems;
  • Assist in interviewing, hiring, and training employees;
  • Organization and administrative responsibilities as required;
  • Is part of the Special Rate and Child Abuse committees to enforce compliance of the Provincial/Federal and/or Authority directive, standards, and agency practices and procedures;
