(Term April 2019 – March 2020)


Under the direction of the Recreation Manager/Coordinator and the Employment and Training Coordinator, the incumbent will work under to assist in coordinating and implementing recreational activities and tasks related to sports, games, movies, crafts, music and other recreation activities. The following are some of the major key objectives this position will implement:


  • Assist Recreation Coordinator in managing, coordinating implementing recreational activities;
  • Assist in developing and suggesting a schedule of recreational activity events;
  • Assist in developing and carrying out program plans and overall recreational activities;
  • Learn from Recreation staff on operations, process and programming;
  • Responsible to assist in setting up and take down on all events with recreation staff;
  • Except suggestions from the public on preferred activities and assist in implementing;
  • Assist in coordinating, planning leagues and tournaments;
  • Able to be flexible with their time with the Sport and Recreation Department;
  • Required to report on Fridays to the Human Resource Department for ;
  • Other duties as assigned;

Eligible Participants

  • Fisher River Cree Nation Band Members
  • Between the ages 18-29
  • Out of school for 6 months
  • Preference will be given to youth with a High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Wishing to obtain training and experience in the Management Field
  • Able to work as a team member
  • Have motivation and ability to work independently
  • Reliable and on time for work daily
